Website and SEO Analysis

In order to provide an accurate proposal and pricing we will carry out a thorough website analysis. This will determine what work will need to be done in order to complete a full optimisation and in turn make your site more searchable.

If we discover errors on your site then fixing these problems will result in an extended set up time, also determining the strengths and weaknesses of your site. Here is a step by step description of each issue.

  • Site PageRank (PR)
Your current PageRank as interpreted by Google crawlers, this gives you an idea of how much authority you currently obtain.
  • Google Backlinks
This is the number of inbound links recognised by the Google crawlers, the more you have the more likely you will be achieving high listings.
  • Yahoo! Backlinks
Similarly this is the number of inbound links recognised by Yahoo!, the figure is likely to be higher than the results given by Google but is normally a more accurate representation.
  • DMOZ listing
If you already have a DMOZ listing this is a great boost and will likely shorten your target timescales, if you don’t have a listing we will try our hardest to have you accepted into the elite directory.
  • Yahoo! Directory Listing
The Yahoo! Directory is a paid directory that holds a lot of respect, again if your site is already recognised then your timescales will be shortened.
  • W3C Errors
This is the standard programming mark up which all sites should be developed against, any errors that appear on a website will need correcting as priority. When these errors occur it can cause problems for the search engine spiders and will encourage them to move away from your site when you want them to spend as long and visit as many pages as possible.
  • Canonicalisation Issue
This is a major issue for two reasons, firstly it can be classed as duplicate content, and secondly if a link was directed to your domain (yoursite.com) instead of your URL (www.yoursite.com) then to take full credit all links will need to go to the same destination to generate their full value.
  • Hidden Text
If your site has duplicate content i.e. content that has been used anywhere else on the web then this needs addressing and either re-writing or removing.
  • Hosting / Domain
This is an important factor for any UK based websites, if your hosting is internationally based and you have a registered .com then your site will not appear in any UK listings.

All of the above points can have a major bearing on the view that the search engines give your website. We understand precisely what search engine optimisation detail and content is required to incur frequent spidering and boost rankings.
